The Banyan Tree Project is a national campaign to stop HIV/AIDS-related stigma in Asian & Pacific Islander (A&PI) communities. You can find information about the Banyan Tree Project. May 19, 2009 is the 5th Annual National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.
Please check out this exclusive video message from CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, commemorating National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Dr. Gupta’s message—produced for the Banyan Tree Project—highlights the growing HIV/AIDS epidemic in Asian & Pacific Islander (A&PI) communities.
For 2009, the Banyan Tree Project has produced a new public service announcement. Our new public service announcement highlights the rapid increase of HIV infection among young gay A&PI men, and that only 1 in 4 know their HIV status.
The Banyan Tree Project is funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This site contains HIV prevention messages that may not be appropriate for all audiences.
